Joe Getto got a water bill for more than $120,000, which he contested. The court noted that the building had had estimated bills for 7 years because of a locked gate, and that there was a raft of long-term plumbing problems in the building that went unrepaired. The City may shut off his water and seek recovery of the bill. There is a dissent by one justice on the point that he believes the appellate court is examining the facts, when the appellate court should only examine the law. Note: the opinion uses the term "Marquette building," but it is NOT the famous downtown Marquette Building.
